Shield (B&W)
“Shield” is a unique presentation of the thyroid amongst the vasculature of the aortic arch. It is a butterfly-shaped gland that sits below your Adam’s apple along the front of the windpipe. It functions in affecting metabolism by producing several different hormones.
The original “Shield” is 11” x 14” and was made over one day and 9 hours in September 2019 when I was in my fellowship year in Hospital Medicine in Safety and Quality.
