Pacemaker (B&W)

from $110.00

“Pacemaker” is an artistic representation of the exterior surface of the heart. The heart beats about 115,000 times per day pumping about 2,000 gallons of blood. Yet do we take a step back in our day to recognize its miraculous efforts? This piece was one the first of the medical anatomy series and was an inspiration for the rest of my pieces. I recognized the intricacies of the heart and depicted some of them in the art. From arrows depicting actual blood flow (arteries one way and veins the other) to drawing gears and machinery to symbolize the heart as a pump, I hope you enjoy my intricate expression of the heart and how I see it!

The original “Pacemaker” is 11” x 14” and was made over two days and nine hours in January 2016 when I was a first-year Internal Medicine resident.
